Prosper East

supports individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed to transition into the workforce, specifically in sectors that are experiencing labour shortages. In the past this would have included: Agriculture, Construction, Seafood and the Tourism Industry. In 2020, 2021 and in 2022, it was agreed that this program would/will continue to support all sectors, as there are labour shortages across the sectors due to the pandemic. Clients are referred from organizations or self-referred. This program is open to anyone who feels they are underemployed.

We will be providing 2 intakes of a 10 week skills development component to equip high needs individuals with the skills required to obtain employment. These sessions will be delivered in Charlottetown and Montague. All participants will work with a job coach who will assist them to identify their barriers, and determine what resources are needed, as well as navigating the transition to employment.
